Meet the newest ILSA Student Director, Stanislau Lashkevich. Stanislau holds International Law degrees from Belarus and Ukraine and is currently finalizing his Master’s studies in International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Jessup 2023 Richard R. Baxter Award Winners Announced!

We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Baxter Awards. Named in honor of the late Richard Baxter, an eminent and pioneering scholar of international law and Judge of the International Court of Justice, the Award is presented to Teams for excellence in Memorial writing by comparing individual Applicant and Respondent Memorials. The Memorials of Teams that receive the Alona E. Evans Award and/or the Hardy C. Dillard Award are considered. The winner of the Baxter for Best Applicant Memorial is Harvard Law School (USA) and Best Respondent Memorial is Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (India). Congratulations to both teams!

2023 Student Deak Award Winner Announced

ILSA is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2023 Student Deak Award, for the best student-written law review article, is Jiang Zhifeng of the National University of Singapore. Jiang’s winning article, “Pacta Sunt Servanda and Empire: A Critical Examination of the Evolution, Invocation, and Application of an International Law Axiom,” was published in Volume 43, Issue 3 of the Michigan Journal of International Law and is available for download on the Journal’s website.
